Vinay Narasimhamurthy

Design Leader, design strategist, and engineer who crossed over to the human side — now thinking in systems, not just screens — based in Bangalore.

I started my career as a software engineer — close to the code, close to the systems, but always drawn to the people using them. It was at HP, working on Vodafone’s e-commerce platforms, that I first encountered usability engineering. That was it. I never looked back.

I pursued a Masters in Information Systems at the University of Sheffield, and spent the years that followed designing across some of the most demanding domains in enterprise software — fleet management for Volvo Group, telecom platforms for Three UK, and now industrial SaaS at Honeywell, where I currently lead UX across a 5+ product Connected Industrial portfolio.

Today I manage and develop a 12-member design team, partner with Product and Engineering leadership on roadmap strategy, and drive validated, research-backed design decisions at scale. Along the way, I’ve co-invented two UX-related patents and built structured design practices that have outlasted the projects they were created for.

Sixteen years in, what still gets me is the moment a complex system starts to feel obvious. That tension between operational complexity and human simplicity — that’s the problem I keep showing up to solve.

I believe design is a team sport. The best outcomes I’ve been part of came from pulling engineers, product managers, and real users into the room early — and staying rigorous about validating decisions before they became expensive mistakes.
